ttabel = 2,76 yang berarti menyatakan bahwa hipotesis nihil ditolak dan menerima hipotesis alternatif yang menyatakan : "Terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Ekonomi antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) pada siswa kelas VII Semester I SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Tahun Pelajaran 2010/2011 . Dengan demikian, maka hipotesis penelitian terbukti secara empiris. Peranan penggunaan LKS dapat diketahui dari tingkat prestasi siswa, di mana sebelum penggunaan LKS nilai rata-rata dari tes formatif siswa sebesar 61,66, kemudian setelah adanya penggunaan LKS nilai rata-rata tes formatif menjadi 80,83. Dalam penggunaan LKS, hendaknya guru merencanakan terlebih dahulu secara sistematis agar hasilnya dapat efektif. Guru hendaknya juga tidak berfokus pada peningkatan prestasi belajar saja melainkan memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar pada siswanya dan berupaya meningkatkan kualitas pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pelajaran yang disampaikan. Apparently from the results of the calculation data showed that t count = 34.171> ttable = 2.76 which means that null hypothesis is rejected and accept the alternative hypothesis which states: "There is a difference in student achievement in social studies subjects Economy between before and after use of the Student Worksheet (LKS) on class VII Semester SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Academic Year 2010/2011. Thus, the hypothesis empirically proven research. The role of the use of worksheets can be known from the level of student achievement, where before the use of LKS average value of formative student tests at 61.66, then after the use of LKS average value of formative tests to be 80.83. In the use of worksheets, the teacher should be systematically planned in advance so the results can be effective. Pokok masalah penelitian, yaitu: "Apakah terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Ekonomi antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan LKS pada siswa kelas VII Semester I SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Tahun pelajarn 2010/2011?". Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan Lembar Kerja Siswaterhadap prestasi belajar IPS Ekonomi pada siswa kelas VII Semester I SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Tahun pelajaran 2010/2011.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII Semester I SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Tahun Pelajaran 2010-2011 yaitu sejumlah 360 siswa. Sedangkan sampel yang digunakan hanya siswa yang memiliki daya serap terhadap mata pelajaran IPS Ekonomi kurang dari 75% yaitu sejumlah 30 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah dengan metode dokumentasi, kepustakaan dan tes. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan metode t-test.
Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan t-test diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 34,171. Nilai thitung tersebut untuk selanjutnya dikonsultasikan dengan ttabel pada taraf signifikansi 99% (atau ? = 1%) dengan derajat kebebasan N-1 yaitu 30 - 1 = 29, di mana diperoleh ttabel = 2,76. Ternyata dari hasil perhitungan tersebut diperoleh data bahwa thitung = 34,171 > ttabel = 2,76 yang berarti menyatakan bahwa hipotesis nihil ditolak dan menerima hipotesis alternatif yang menyatakan : "Terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS Ekonomi antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) pada siswa kelas VII Semester I SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah Tahun Pelajaran 2010/2011 . Dengan demikian, maka hipotesis penelitian terbukti secara empiris.
