Documentation methods used to obtain student's name and value data of Central Deuteronomy semester students in the first half of class VIII. The research data was obtained from the results of achievement tests and questionnaires interest in learning. Data analysis was tested by using t test analysis Based on analysis of the obtained t count = 5.386 where ttable with significance level of 5% price comparison ttable = 2.006 proved that tcount > ttable. This indicates that this research hypothesis acceptable. It can be concluded that the implementation of reciprocal teaching learning methods more effective than conventional learning methods in terms of interests and achievements of students studying mathematics in grade VIII Semester junior Ma'arif NU 01 Jatinegara Tegal regency school year 2010/2011 subject function. It is seen from the results of student interest questionnaire treated with reciprocal teaching model of learning is higher than the results of student interest questionnaire treated with conventional learning models. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan minat dan prestasi belajar antara siswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching dengan siswa yang tidak diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching 2)Untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching ditinjau dari minat dan prestasi belajar siswa lebih efektif digunakan dibandingkan metode konvensional pada pokok bahasan fungsi.
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII Semester I SMP Ma'arif NU Jatinegara Kabupaten Tegal tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 dengan jumlah siswa 212 siswa yang terbagi dalam 6 kelas. Dari 212 siswa tersebut diambil sampel secara cluster random sampling sebanyak 73 siswa yang terbagi dalam 2 kelompok. Tiap kelompok terdiri dari 37 dan 36 siswa. Kelompok I yaitu kelas VIII.A sebagai kelas eksperimen ( kelas dengan metode reciprocal teaching) dan kelompok 2 yaitu kelas VIII.B sebagai kelas kontrol ( kelas dengan metode konvensional). Metode dokumentasi digunakan untuk mendapatkan data nama siswa dan nilai Ulangan Tengah Semester siswa pada semester I kelas VII.
Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes prestasi dan angket minat belajar. Analisis data diuji dengan menggunakan Analisis Uji t. Berdasarkan dari analisis diperoleh thitung = 5.386 dimana ttabel dengan taraf signifikansi 5% harga ttabel = 2.006 Perbandingan tersebut membuktikan bahwa thitung > ttabel . Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini diterima.
Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran reciprocal teaching lebih efektif daripada metode pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari minat dan prestasi belajar matematika pada siswa kelas VIII Semester I SMP Ma'arif NU Jatinegara 01 Kabupaten Tegal tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 pokok bahasan fungsi. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil angket minat belajar siswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil angket minat belajar siswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran konvensional. Rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching lebih tinggi dari pada prestasi belajar siswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran konvensional.
