Vocabulary is an important tool to support students' communication activity. In order to communicate well in a foreign language, students should get an adequate number of words and should know how to use them accurately. The objective of this research is to know whether there is a positive Effect of Using Thematic Card in Teaching English Vocabulary of the Fifth Grade Students of MI Al-Mujahidin Kluwut-Brebes in Academic Year 2009/2010. Based on the review of related study and logical frame work, the hypothesis of this research is purpose as follow: "there is a significant difference of teaching English vocabulary between students who are taught by using thematic card and students who are taught without using thematic card of MI Al-Mujahidin Kluwut-Brebes in Academic year 2010/2011". The population of this research is the fifth grade students of MI Al-Mujahidin Kluwut-Brebes and total number of the students is 121 students. The samples of this research are 60 students. The sample is divided into two groups: the experimental group and control group. Each group consists of 30 students. The samples are taken by using random sampling technique. The writer uses test as the instrument of the research. The type of the test is the multiple choice test with four options, A, B, C, and D. To know the reliability and validity of the test, the writer had tried out the instrument by giving test to 30 students who have the same competence as the samples of research. The data of this research is tested by using t test, for testing the different means of the two groups. On the level significance 0,05 and the degree of freedom 58, it shows that t-test is bigger than t table (2,770>1,645). It means that there is significant difference in the teaching English vocabulary between the students who are taught by using thematic card and without using thematic card and thematic card give positive influence toward the writing achievement of the fifth grade students of MI Al-Mujahidin Kluwut-Brebes in academic year 2010/2011." />
