Kosakata mengambil peran penting untuk mengajarkan disamping unsur-unsur lain dari bahasa Inggris. Dengan menguasai kosakata, para siswa dapat mengungkapkan apa yang ada di pikiran mereka tanpa mengalami kesulitan.
Populasi penelitian ini adalah para siswa kelas VII MTs ASY-Syafi'iyah KARANGASEM pada tahun akademik 2010/2011. Ada enam kelas dan masing-masing kelas terdiri dari 30 siswa dari seluruh populasi yaitu 214 Siswa. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan membuat dua kelompok, para siswa kelompok pertama diajar dengan metode TPR dan kelompok kedua diajar dengan DM, masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 30 siswa
Data diperoleh dari tes. Penulis melakukan tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda dengan empat pilihan (A, B, C, dan D) yang terdiri dari 30 item. Tes ini diberikan kepada dua kelompok sampel dalam waktu yang dialokasikan 1 x 45 menit.
Hasil dan pembahasan yang telah disebutkan pada bab sebelumnya, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Metode TPR memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap prestasi kosakata pada siswa kelas tujuh SMP.
Berdasarkan fakta, penulis ingin menawarkan beberapa saran untuk dipertimbangkan oleh guru bahwa metode TPR harus digunakan sebagai sarana untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa dan pembelajaran kosakata, sehingga siswa dapat membuat kalimat singkat dengan mudah, murid lebih aktif, dan lebih tertarik.

The vocabulary takes the important role to teach beside the other elements of English. By mastering the vocabulary, the students can express what they have in their mind without finding any difficulties.
The population of this study is the students of seventh grade students of MTs ASY-SYAFI'IYAH KARANGASEM in the academic year of 2010/2011. There are six classes and each class consists more and less 30 students, the population is 214 Student. The sample of this research is taken by using random sampling technique with make two groups, the first group students who is taught TPR method and the second group who is taught Direct Method, each of group consists of 30 students.
The data is obtained from a test. The writer conducts the test in the form of multiple choices with four options (A, B, C, and D) which consist of 30 items. The test is given to two groups of sample in the allocated time 1 x 45 minutes.
The result and the discussion which had been mentioned on previous chapter, it can be concluded that The Total Physical Response method gives positive effect towards vocabulary achievement on the seventh graders of junior high school.
Based on the fact, the writer would like to offer some suggestions considering to the teacher should be used the total physical response method as means to develop the student's ability and vocabulary learning, so the students can write simple sentence easily, students are more active, and more interesting.
