ABSTRACT
IMAM SANTOSO. NIM. 3209500109. Land Suitability Analysis for Aquaculture Sustainability Business in the Muarareja Village and District of Margadana Tegal city (NURJANAH and BUDI KURNIAWAN).
Location of coastal Tegal very strategic in the arterial line pantura (north sea coast), strongly support the rapid fishing activities in this area. The problems that arise in the aquaculture business, including: the number of farms affected by the abrasion area, having land use into residential ponds, and the problem of water pollution by sewage plant. Therefore it is necessary to review land suitability analysis as the basis for the development of aquaculture in Tegal city.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the suitability of land for cultivation ponds and determine the level of fertility waters and pollution. Conducted in April 2011 to May 2011 in the Muarareja Village and District of Margadana Tegal city. The method used is the method of the survey are analyzed in a descriptive quantitative research based on these variables ..
The results showed that the area of fishponds in Tegal city about 437.34 ha, with the most extensive area in the Muarareja village about 351 Ha. Production and value of production in 2010 rose despite of the area down by abrasion and land use, with a number of existing RTP 544. Fishponds in the Muarareja Village and District of Margadana enter the class S3 (Marginal Match / Match Almost) the land has a barrier - a serious barrier and to retain its management should be considered an existing barrier, because it can reduce production or profits. One barrier that must be considered is the flood tide (rob) and pollution. Overall water quality is still viable for aquaculture activities, although at some point find the parameters that exceed the threshold of TOM and in 1 (one) point of TAN and nitrit exceeds the threshold. TVC results also showed 60% exceeds the threshold. Pollution of heavy metals Hg, Pb and Cd has also been detected, even for Pb was exceeded. As for fertility rates and pollution qualify saprobitas ? - Mesosaprobik-level contamination was mild, where the fertility waters can be used for aquaculture including clams, oysters, snapper, milkfish and seaweed. Until Oligosaprobik light pollution - not polluted, where the fertility waters can be used for the cultivation of mussels, oysters, fish and shrimp. To maintain the sustainability of farming and increase productivity at least there are 4 (four) ways you can do that is, land revitalization in the form of ponds pond construction and land management, use of a closed aquaculture system (Closed System) with Low Water Exchange or even Zero Water Exchange, the application of strict Biosecurity in the process of cultivation, and application management of ponds with sea grass filter systems and polyculture of milkfish-shrimp vannamei / tiger.
