Based on theoritical background, the research hypothesis is “Tajwid gives positive effect in pronouncing English vocabularies”.
This is an experimental research using one-group design. The population of this research is all second grade students of MTs Mambaul Ulum Tegal which consists of 64 students. Then, the writer takes 40 students as the sample by using random sampling technique which divided into 20 students from A class and 20 students from B class. The writer provides English pronunciation test to them after they were are given the treatments of English pronunciation.
Afterwards, the data is tested by t-test formula. Based on the result of data analysis, the result is 0,093. The writer consults it to t-table where N = 40 and the significance level of 5% is 2,021. The comparison shows that t-test is lower than t-table (0,093<2,021). It means that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted because there is no a significance effect between Tajwid and English vocabularies pronounciation. Therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted, that is Tajwid does not give the positive effect in pronouncing English vocabularies on the second grade students of MTs Mambaul Ulum Tegal in the academic year of 2011/2012.
