The Effect of SSS (Start with Simple Stories) Technique towards Students’ Vocabulary Achievement (An Experimental Research on the Eighth Grade Students in MTs. Al-Fahruriyah Dukuhwaru – Tegal Regency in the Academic Year of 2011/2012).

The main objective of this study is to know if the use of SSS (Start with Simple Stories) technique gives a positive effect on the students’ vocabulary achievement of eight grade student of MTs. Al- Fahruriyah Dukuhwaru – Tegal regency in the academic year of 2011/2012.
The population of the study is eighth grade students of MTs. Al-Fahruriyah Dukuhwaru – Tegal regency in the academic year of 2011/2012, which random sampling technique to get the sample. It consists of two groups; 30 students belong to experimental group which is given SSS (Start with Sample Stories) technique and 30 students belong to the control group which is not given SSS technique.
The data of this study is conducted by multiple choice test. The analysis of this research is calculated by using t-test formula, which shows 2,968. After consulting to t-table at significance level 5%, it is gained t-table which is 1,645. The research results show that t-test is higher than t-table (2,968 > 1, 645). Therefore, the Ha is accepted which means that there is a significant difference between the eighth grade students who are given SSS (start with simple stories) technique in students’ vocabulary achievement of MTs. Al-Fahruriyah Dukuhwaru – Tegal regency in the academic year of 2011/2012 than those who are not given SSS technique.
