THE EFFECT OF USING COOPERATIVE, INTEGRATED, READING, AND COMPOSITON (C.I.RC) TECHNIQUE TOWARD THE STUDENTS’ ENGLISH ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Study on the First Year Students in the Second Semester at SMP N 1 Talang Tegal Regency in Academic Year of 2010/2011)

The objectives of this research is to find out whether or not there is positive effect on students’ English achievement who are taught by using Cooperative, Integrated, Reading and Composition (C.I.R.C) technique.
Based on review of related literature and logical framework the hypothesis of this research is; The use of Cooperative , Integrated, reading and Composition (C.I.R.C) technique give positive effect to the students’ English achievement.
The population of this research is the seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Talang; the sample of this study is 60 students. The sample is divided into two groups namely experiment group and control group, each consists of 30 students. To take the sample, this research uses cluster sampling technique. The instrument used in this research is test. The type of the test used multiple choice type with 4 options; a, b, c and d. The writer held try out test on 30 students who have the same ability with research samples to determine the validity and reliability of the test instrument. Data analysis is tested by using t-test, the result of t-test is 4,326 with the t-table is 1,645 at the 5% significant level and degree of fredom (df) is 58. Calculating data obtains t-test is higher than t-table (4,326 > 1,645).It means that the hypothesis of this research is accepted.
Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that Cooperative, Integrated, Reading and Composition (C.I.R.C) technique give positive effect toward the students’ English achievement.
