The Effectivenness of Using Dictation Technique in Improving Students’ writing ability An Experimental Study in SDN 03 Kalirandu- Pemalang Regency in the Academic Year 2012 2013

The objective of this research is to know whether dictation technique gives positive effect toward the students’ writing ability at the Fifth Grade Students of SDN 03 Kalirandu- Pemalang Regency In Academic Year 2012/2013. The research is done by classifying into two groups; they are the Experimental group and Control group. Each group consists of 24 students who are taught by using dictation technique as the experimental group and group two, as control group consist of students who are taught without dictation technique.
Data analysis of this research is tested by using t- test. Based on the result with the degree of freedom (df) 46 on the level significant of 5% t- table is1,676. It shows that t- ratio is higher than t- table (5,53> I, 676). It means that there is significant difference of the writing ability between students who are taught by using dictation technique and the students who are taught without using dictation technique.
From the result above, it can be concluded that the dictation technique gives positive effect on the students writing ability at the fifth grade students of SDN 03 Kalirandu- Pemalang Regency in academic year of 2012/2013. Therefore, it is suggested for teacher to apply this method in teaching and learning process.
