Problema Pendidikan Anak pada Keluarga Nelayan Studi Kasus: Desa Marga Mulya, Kecamatan Mauk, Tangerang
This paper is motivated by the lack of quality education for children in a fishermen’s family. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is intended to determine the perceptions of fishermen families to early childhood education. The method used is a survey, with locations in the village of Marga Mulya, Mauk district, Tangerang. The survey results showed that: 90% (27 people) of respondents have a good insight to education, 90% (27 people) of respondents see education as a good thing and important to the future of children, and 90% (27 people) of respondents willing to send their children the variation between the level of Primary School, Secondary School, up to Senior Secondary School. The problem is, the ability of socioeconomic very low fishing families to finance their children’s schools. Of the 30 respondents, 70% (21 persons) are able to send up to elementary level, 20% (6 people) capable of up to junior secondary level, and the remaining 10% (3 people) only to high school. Overall, respondents said the economic factors is a problem that determine the effort to continue their education.
