THE EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLYING EXCEPTION GAME IN THE TEACHING VOCABULARY FOR THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (An Experiment Research in SMP Muhammadiyah Suradadi Tegal Regency in the Academic Year of 2013/2014)

The objective of the research is to find out whether there is any difference of Exception Game between students vocabulary at the seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Suradadi Tegal in Academic Year of 2013/2014.
Based on the theoretical background, the writer draws the hypothesis of research is that presumbly there is significant difference of vocabulary mastery between students who are taught by using Exception Game at SMP Muhammadiyah Suradadi Tegal in academic year of 2013/2014
This research is experimental. The population of the research is all of the seventh grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Suradadi Tegal that consist of 40 students and all of the seventh grade students at MTs NU 01 Suradadi Tegal that consist of 100 students. All the total population is 140 Students. The writer takes 40 students as the sample of the research. They are devided into two groups. Group one is experiment group that consists of students who are taught by using Exception Game and group two is control group that consists of students taught without by Exception Game. In this research, the writer uses random sampling technique to get research sample.
The form of the test is objective test that consists of 40 items of multiple choice. Every item is presented 4 answer options (a, b, c or d). One of those options is the correct answer, the others are distracters. The material of the test is the vocabulary in the seventh grade students’ of junior school in the first semester in the academic year 2013/2014. The students did the test for 60 minutes. The statistical analysis by using t-test shows that the result is 2.631 and if result of computation to the t-table with 5% level of significance and with the number of degree of freedom is 38, the degree comparison shows that the result of the t-test higher than t-table (2.631>2.021)
Based on the data analysis above, it means that there is significant difference of the Exception Game between students who are taugh by using conventional model. The conclusion of this research is students who are taught by using Exception Game modal obtain better vocabulary of the Seventh Grade Students at SMP Muhammadiyah Suradadi Tegal in academic year 2013/2014.
