THE EFFECT OF USING KINESTHETIC MODALITY STRATEGY TOWARD STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Study of the Fifth Grade of SD Negeri Kraton 2 Tegal in the Academic Year of 2013/2014)

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of using kinesthetic modality strategy towards the Students’ vocabulary achievement (An Experimental Study of the fifth Grade of SD Negeri Kraton 2 Tegal in the Academic Year of 2013/2014).
The research is done by classifying sample into two groups. Each group consists of 20 students. The sample is taken by using random sampling technique. The first group is experimental group which consists of students who are taught by using kinesthetic modality strategy and the second group is control group consists of students who are taught without using kinesthetic modality strategy.
Based on the review of related theories and frame of thinking, so the writer can state hypothesis of this research, as follows:” kinesthetic modality strategy will give positive effect towards the students’ vocabulary achievement of the fifth grade of SD Negeri Kraton 2 Tegal in the Academic Year of 2013/2014”
The population of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Negeri kraton 2 Tegal. Sample is given a test containing 30 multiple choice items. The witer uses multiple choice as the instrument to know the validity and reliability of the instrument. The writer gives try out for the students having the same competence with sample.
Data analysis of the research is tested by using t-test formula. Based on the result with the degree of freedom (df) 38 on the level of significance of 5%, t-table is 1,645, it shows that t-ratio is higher than t-table (1,921>1,645). It means that there is significant difference of the vocabulary achievement between students who are taught by using kinesthetic modality strategy and the students who are taught without using kinesthetic modality strategy.
The conclusion of this research is kinesthetic modality srategy gives positive effect on the students’ vocabulary achievement of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Kraton 2 Tegal in the Academic Year of 2013/2014.
The writer suggests, that the teachers should use kinesthetic modality strategy in teaching vocabulary because this strategy is easy to be implemented. Kinesthetic modality strategy can be used to help the students in learning vocabulary achievement.
