Perempuan dalam Cengkeraman HIV/AIDS: Kajian Sosiologi Feminis Perempuan Ibu Rumah Tangga
This paper tries to explain why the number of women living with HIV/AIDS in Indonesia year by year simultaneously increases. Moreover, 35.4% of it is housewife. These data indicate how risky sexual behavior of men who have multiple sexual partners, especially against housewife (his own wife). This kind of behavior as if agreed by the people because most of them use double standards in assessing the sexuality of men and women. People tend to evaluate male sexuality positively, but negatively to the female sexuality. In some community, even young men are encouraged to seek and collect experiences with as many as women so that they dubbed as manly. For the housewife, this reality becomes increasingly complicated to disentangle because socio-cultural construction of society puts women and men in a hierarchical position where women being marginalized.
