THE EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION OF BUZZ GROUPS TECHNIQUE ON THE GRAMMAR ACHIEVEMENT OF STUDENTS FOR THE FIRST YEAR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (An Experimental Research in SMA N 1 Kramat - Tegal in the 2013/2014 of Academic Year)

The objectives of this research is to find out the effect of the application of buzz groups technique gives positive effect of the grammar achievement of students of the first year senior high school students, and how to implementation buzz groups technique in teaching grammar to the first year students of SMA Negeri 1 Kramat - Tegal.
The population of this research is the first year students of SMA Negeri 1 Kramat - Tegal in the 2013/2014 of academic year, which consists of 288 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique to choose the sample that is divided into two groups. The first group is the experimental group and second group is the control group. The sample is 64 students. Each group consists of 32 students.
The research instrument used in this research is multiple choices test which consists of 60 items grammar test and each item has five options. To know the validity and the reliability of the instrument, the writer tries out the instrument by giving test to a tryout group that do not belong to control and experimental group but the group has the same competence with the sample of the study.
The data is analysed by using t-test formula. It shows that t-test result is 5,732 with t-table of degree freedom (df) is 62 and the level of significance (α) 5% = 1,645. it is absolutely said that t-test is higher than t-table (5,732 >1,645), because of the t-test is higher than t-table, so that hypothesis of the research is accepted.
Based on the result of the analysis data, the writer concludes that the use of the buzz group technique gives positive effect on the grammar achievement students at the first year students of SMA Negeri 1 Kramat - Tegal in the 2013/2014 of academic year. Therefore, the writer recommends the teacher to use the buzz group technique to increase the students’ grammar achievement.
