In this research, the writer used quantitative approach, experimental research, and two groups design. The population of this research was all of the second year students of SMP Negeri 5 Brebes which consist of 270 students. The writer used cluster random sampling technique to take samples of the research. Total the samples were 60 students that were divided into two groups. The first group was experiment group which consist of 30 students who were taught by using Word Wall strategy. The second group was control group which consist of 30 students who were not taught by using Word Wall strategy.
The writer used multiple choice vocabulary test with 4 options; A, B, C, D as the instrument of this research. The items of the test were 40 questions. The writer conducted try out test on 30 students to determine validity and reliability. After the data had been collected by using t- test, it was obtained 3,346, whereas the t-table was 2,002 for significant level of df = 5%. The t-test score was higher than the t-table (3,346 > 2,002). It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, since t-test score was higher than t-table, Word Wall Strategy gives a positive effect towards students’ vocabulary achievement at the second years of SMP Negeri 5 Brebes in academic year 2013/2014. The writer suggests to teachers that they should use Word Wall strategy in teaching vocabulary for their students.
