THE EFFECT OF COMMUNICATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING METHOD USING VISUAL AIDS ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Study of the Fourth Grade Students of SD N 03 Longkeyang – Pemalang Regency in Academic Year of 2013/2014)

The objective of this research is to find out about the Effect of Communicative Language Teaching Method using Visual Aids on Students’ Vocabulary Achievement of the fourth year students of SD N 03 Longkeyang in Academic Year of 2013/2014.
The population of this research is the fourth grade students of SD N 03 Longkeyang, in Academic Year 2013/2014 which consist of 45 students. The research takes 30 students for the sample who are selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The sample consists of two groups. They are 15 students as an experiment group who are taught by using communicative language teaching method using visual aids, and 15 students as control group who are not taught by communicative language teaching method using visual aids.
The data is obtained by conducting test, the kind of the test in this research is vocabulary test. The type of vocabulary test is multiple choices which consists of 30 question. The writer had tried out the instrument by giving a test to the students having the same competence.
Data analysis of the research is tested by using t-test, the writer consults it to t-table with 5% significant level and degree freedom 28. The writer finds that the t-table is 1,701. It proves that the t-test is higher than t-table ( 2,400 > 1,701 ). The result of the t-test is higher than t-table, so the null hypothesis (H0) is refused and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted.
The conclussion of this research shows that Communicative Language Teaching Method using Visual Aids give positive effect on vocabulary achievement of the fourth grade students of SD N 03 Longkayang-Pemalang Regency in Academic Year of 2013/2014).
