THE EFFECT OF USING GAP – FILL SENTENCE TECHNIQUE TOWARD STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Research to the Seventh Year Students of MTS. Muhammadiyah Wanasari in the Academic Year 2014/2015)

The objective of this research is To find out the effect of using gap—fill sentence technique toward students’ vocabulary achievement at the seventh grade of MTS Muhammadiyah Wanasari in academic 2014/2015
This research is experimental research. In conducting the research, the writer uses two group design as the research design. The population of this research is all of the seventh year students of MTS Muhammadiyah Wanasari which consist of 105 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique to take the samples of the research. The total number of samples of this research is 70 students that are divided into two groups. The first group, namely experiment group, consists of 35 students who are taught by using Gap-fill Sentence Technique and the second group namely control group consists of 35 students who are not taught by using Gap-fill Sentence Technique.
In this research, the writer uses multiple choices Vocabulary test as the instrument of research which consists of 35 items. The writer conducts a try-out test on 35 students who have the same ability with the research samples to determine the validity and the reliability of the test instrument.
After counting t-test, the result of t-test is 2,9556. The writer consults to using t-table with 5% significant level. The writer finds that t-table is 2,042. It proves that the result of the t-test is higher than t-table (2,9556 > 2,042) Because the result of the t-test is higher than t-table, so the null hypothesis (Ho) is refused and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. It means There is positive effect of Using Gap-Fill Sentences Tehnique toward Students English Vocabulary Achivement ot the seventh Grade Students of MTS Muhammadiyah Wanasari Academic Year 2014/2015”.
From the fnding above, the writer recommends a suggestion is The Teacher should have creativity to teach the students because there are many methods of teaching to be applied in the class.
