THE EFFECT OF USING FRONTLOADING TECHNIQUE TOWARD STUDENTS’ READING ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Study at the Seventh Grade Students of MTs Miftahul Rengaspendawa in the Academic Year of 2014/2015)

The objective of this research is to know whether Frontloading technique has positive effect toward students’ reading achievement at the Seventh grade of MTs Miftahul Ulum Rengaspendawa in Academic Year of 2014/2015.
The writer takes an experimental research which is held in the First grade of MTs Miftahul Ulum Rengaspendawa in the first semester of academic year 2014/2015. The writer takes 130 students as a population. To get the sample of data, the writer takes sample by cluster random sampling. The randomization is done to choose the experimental and control class. The sample consists of 60 students that devided into two groups. Sample 1 (VII A) is chosen as experimental class which taught by Frontloading technique and sample 2 (VII B) is chosen as control class which not taught by Frontloading technique. In this research, the writer used multiple choices reading test as the instrument of the research which consist of 30 items.
To analyze the data, the writer used t-test formula to know the difference of the two groups. Based on the result of data analysis, score of t-table at 5% level of significances is 1,672. While t-ratio is 4,24. So, t-ratio is higher than t-table (4,24>1,672). According to this calculation, hypothesis null (h0) is rejected and hypothesis of this research (h1) is accepted. It means that there is possitive effect in reading achievement between the students who are taught by using Frontloading technique and those who are not taught by using Frontloading technique.
The conclusion of this research is Frontloading technique gives positive effect toward students’ reading achievement at the Seventh grade of MTs Miftahul Ulum Rengaspendawa in Academic Year of 2014/2015. For english teachers, they are suggested to use Frontloading Technique in teaching reading in english because it is an appropriate technique to comprehend the text.
