Key words: Interactive Word Wall Strategy, Students’ Reading Achievement.
The aim of the research is to find out whether or not the give positive effect of using Interactive Word Wall Strategy toward students’ reading achievement. It is an experimental study on the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 15 Tegal in the Academy Year of 2014/2015.
Based on the the background of the problem and the logical framework, the research hypothesis is proposed as follows : there is significant difference on reading achievement between students who are taught by using Interactive Word Wall Strategy and students who are not taught by using Interactive Word Wall Strategy at the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 15 Tegal in The Academic Year of 2014/2015
This Research is an experimental research. The population of this research is the Seventh Grade students in Junior High School of State Junior High School 15 Tegal in the academic year of 2014/2015 which consist of 252 students from 8 classes. They are VII A- VII H. In this research the writer uses 2 classes (VII E and VII G) which consist of 30 students for each class as the sample who are selected by using cluster random sampling technique. In designing study, the writer uses Two-Groups Design which consist of two classes that have same level, those are experimental group and control group.
The writer uses reading test as the type of instrument of the research by using multiple choice designs with four options A, B, C and D, which consist of 40 multiple choice item test is given to students having the same competence with the sample. To find the validity and reliability of the instrument, the writer tested the instrument to 30 students who are not taken as sample groups.
The Data analysis of this research is tested by using t-test. To test the difference of the means of the experimental group and control group. After having consulted to the significant level of 5% t-able is 1,645, so that the result of calculation analysis show t-test is 1,984. It means the result of t-test is higer than t-table (1,984>1,645). Thus hypothesis of the research is accepted.
The conclusion of this research shows that using Interactive Word Wall Strategy gives positive effect toward students reading achievement of the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 15 Tegal in the academic year of 2014/2015.
