The background of the research is the students of the seventh grade difficult to achieve the components skill of English material, because they have limited vocabulary, they can not understand the meaning. The researcher found that the teacher used traditional technique in teaching English especially teach vocabulary. The students feel bored in learning vocabulary. It made the students feel so hard in achieving vocabulary. The researcher needs to apply the appropriate technique to make the students achieve their vocabulary using Odd One Out Game. Thus, The objective of this research is to find out the effect toward students’ vocabulary achievement by Odd One Out game and to find out the significant difference between the students who are taught by Odd One Out game and who are not taught by Odd One Out game to the seventh grade student of SMP Takhassus Al – Qur’an to Tarub
The researcher used true experimental research as the type of the research and used cluster random sampling to take the sample with two group design. They are coming from B class as the experiment group and C class as the control group which each class consist of 25 students.
The researcher used SPSS 22 to analyzed the data in this research. It shows that t-test result is 94,768, the researcher consult this to t-table with the level of significant 5%. The researcher finds that t-table is 1,678. It proves that the result of t-test is higher than t-table (94,768 > 1,674). It means that Odd One Out game is effective to teach vocabulary achievement at the seventh grade students of SMP Takhassus Al – Qur’an Tarub Then, based on the calculation of means in both groups, it proved that the result of t-test was higher than t-table with 5% significant level (3,192 > 1,678). It means that there is significant difference between the students who are taught by Odd One Out game and students who are not taught by Odd One Out game on vocabulary achievement.
The finding showed that the use of Odd One Out game is effective to teach vocabulary achievement and there is significant difference in teaching vocabulary achievement to the seventh grade of SMP Takhassus Al – Qur’an to Tarub.
