THE EFFECT OF USING MUDDIEST-POINT TECHNIQUE TOWARDS STUDENTS’GRAMMAR ACHIEVEMENT” (An Experimental Research at The Eleventh Grade Students of Satya Praja 2 Vocational High School Petarukan Academic Year 2016/2017)

The objective of this Research Project is to find out the effect of using Muddiest-Point Technique on students’ grammar achievement. Muddiest-Point Technique is a classroom assessment techniquethat is good to be applied in grammar class so that students can assess their “Muddiest Point” thus it will be good for their achievement.
The research hypotesis is the use of Muddiest-Point Technique gives positive effect towards students’ grammar achievement of the eleventh grade students of Satya Praja 2 Vocational High School Petarukan, Pemalang Regency, Academic Year 2016/2017.
In this research, the population is all eleventh grade students of Satya Praja 2 Vocational High School Petarukan, which is totally 471 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique to choose the sample with two-group design (experiment group and control group). The total sample is 60 students, consisting of 30 students is as experiment group and 30 students is as control group. The experiment group is the group which is assessed by using Muddiest-Point Technique and the control group is group which is not. In the end of giving treatment, the writer gives a post test to experiment group and control group.
The writer analyzes data by using T-test, score of T-test is 3,732. While score of T-table is at 5% significance and on the degree of 58 is 2,002. Thus, T-test is higher that T-table (3,732>2,002). According to result of data, hypotesis T-test is rejected and hypotesis T-table is accepted. Thus it means, the use of Muddiest-Point Technique gives possitive effect towards the eleventh grade students’ grammar achievement at Satya Praja 2 Vocational High School Petarukan. Then, the writer suggest to use Muddiest-Point Technique as classroom assessment technique to improve students grammar achievement.
