This research explains about the application of positive mapping technique to the achievement of vocabulary of sixth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Sidorejo, Comal Regency in Academic Year 2016 - 2017. The purpose of this research is to know whether the use of word mapping technique can give a positive effect on Achievement of vocabulary of sixth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Sidorejo, Comal Regency in Academic Year 2016 - 2017 This research was conducted by using experimental research design.
The population of this research is the students of class VI SD Negeri 1 Sidorejo Comal Academic Year 2016/2017 consisting of 92 students. The sample of this study amounted to 60 students taken at random. The samples were then divided into two groups, namely the experimental group (students taught using the Rotary Board Strategy) and the control group (students taught without the Rotary Board Strategy) and each group of 30 students. The author uses written test as a research instrument. The test form is a multiple choice with 4 choices of answers with a total of 30 questions. The time allocation for the test is 45 minutes. To know the reliability and validity, the authors test the instrument by giving test to 20 students who have the same ability with the sample.
Based on the results of data calculated by using SPSS, it can be concluded that the process of learning English teaching word mapping for students gives a positive effect on the achievement of vocabulary of class students in word mapping in SD Negeri 1 Sidorejo Comal Academic Year 2016/2017.
The effectiveness of the use of word mapping applications to improve the performance of word mapping can be seen in hypothesis test results. The t test result is 5,184 then the author puts it in t table with (0,05) 5% significant level with df is 58. T-table with df 58 is 1.672 so it shows that test result is higher than t-table (5,184> 1,672 ), So the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the research hypothesis (H1) is accepted.
