THE EFFECT OF USING FLY SWATTER GAME TOWARDS STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Study at the Fifth Grade Student of SDN Suradadi 02 in the Academic Year of 2016/2017)

The objective of this Research Project is to find out whether Fly Swatter Game gives positive effect toward students’ vocabulary achievement at the fifth grade student of SDN Suradadi 02. Fly Swatter Game is a game where the students have to get the word in the blackboard by using the teacher’s instruction and it is one of good game to improve students motivation and vocabulary ability which the students can learning while playing
The research hypothesis is Fly Swatter Game gives positive effect to the students who are taught by Fly Swatter Game. This game is applied to the fifth grade student of SDN Suradadi 02 in the academic year of 2016/2017.
In this research, the population is the fifth grade students of SDN Suradadi 02 which totally 36 students. The researcher uses cluster random sampling with one group design. The totally sample is 30 students. After teaching for seven meetings, the researcher gives a test. The type of the test is multiple choices with 4 options (A, B, C, or D). The number of the test is 40 items done in 80 minutes. The researcher conducts try out test on 30 students who have the same ability with research samples to determine the validity and reliability of the test instrument.
Data analysis of this research tested by using sample t-test. The result of computing t-test value is 5,7909. Based on the result with the degree of freedom (df) 58 on the level significant of 5% t-table is 1,672, it shows that t-test is higher than t-table (5,7909>1,672). According to result of data, hypothesis t-test is rejected, and hypothesis t-table is accepted. It means there is positive effect toward students’ vocabulary achievement. Based on the students' achievement using Fly Swatter Game in achieving vocabulary, it was suggested for the English teachers to apply Fly Swatter Game as one of many alternatives that can be used in teaching vocabulary.
