The objective of the research project is to find out whether there is a positive effect of using Question Answer Relationship Method towards students’ Reading Skill at the Tenth grade of Senior High School. Question Answer Realtionship Method is one of the cooperative learning strategy that is good for improving students’ Reading Skill
The research hypothesis of this research project is the use of Question Answer Relationship gives positive effect toward students’Reading Skill.Question Answer Relationship applied in teaching theeleventh grade students of MAN Pemalang in the academic year of 2016/2017.
The population of the study is all of tenth grade students of MAN Pemalang in the academic year of 2016/2017 which has totally 230 students and they are divided into 30 classes: 5 social education classes and 5 science education classes and 5 religion class.The total of sample is 60 students, 30 students is as experimental group and 30 students is as control group. The writer uses two-group design as research methodology and cluster random sampling technique to choose the sample of the research. the sample consists of two groups, the first group is experimental group and the second group is control group. The experimental group is taught by using Question Answer Relationship Method and the control group is taught without using Question Answer Relationship Method. each group consists of 30 students. The form of the test is reading.
Based on the data analysis, t-ratio is 2.172 with the degree of freedom (df) = (n1+n2)-2 = (30+30) – 2 = 58 and the level of significance (α) 5%, the t-table is 1.645. It means that t-ratio is higher than t-table (2.172> 1.645). It means that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the hypothesis of the research (H1) is accepted.It can be concluded that there is a significant difference of speaking achievement between the students who are taught by Question Answer Relationship and the students who are not taught by Question Answer Relationship Method. It means that hypothesis of the research that states “Using Question Answer Relationship is effective on the reading skill of the tenth grade students of MAN Pemalang in the academic year 2016/2017”, is accepted. Then, the writer suggests English teachers to use Question Answer Relationship Method to improve students’ reading skill.
