The objective of this Research Project is to find out the effect of using Make A Match Technique on the student’s vocabulary achievement. To improve vocabulary achievement, teacher needs strategy or Technique to make students enjoyable and easy to remember words. Make A Match is one of Technique to improve student’s vocabulary achievement. The research hypothesis is the used Make A Match Technique gives positive effect on the student’s vocabulary achievement of the seventh grade students of secondary school. Using Make A Match is applied to the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 3 Comal in the academic Year of 2015/2016.
In this research, the population is all of seventh grade students of State Junior High School 3 Comal, which is totally 358 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling with two group design (experiment group and control group). the total of sampel is 60 students, 30 students is as experiment group and 30 students is as control group. the experiment group is the group of students who are taught by using Make A Match Technique, the control group is the group of students who are taught without using Make A Match Technique. After teaching for eight meetings, the writer gives a Post test to experiment group and control group.
The writer analysis data by using t-test, score of t-test is 3,214. While score of t-teable is at 5% level significance and on the degree of 58 is 1,645. Thus, t-test is higher than t-table (3,214>1,645). Based on to the result of data, the null hypothesis is rejected, and the research hypothesis is accepted. Based the analysis, there is positive effect of using Make A Match Technique on the student’s vocabulary achievement of the seventh grade students of State Junior High School 3 Comal in the Academic Year of 2015/2016. Therefore, a teacher should always give an interesting atmosphere in the class to make the students enjoy learning English.
