THE EFFECT OF USING COLOR CHAINS GAME TOWARD STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (An Experimental Research of the Third Grade Students of Ihsaniyah 1 Pusaka Elementary School Tegal in Academic Year 2016/2017)

The purpose of this research is to find out The Effect of using Color chains game on the students’ vocabulary achievement at the third grade students of Elementary school Ihsaniyah in the academic year of 2016/2017.
Based on the theoretical background, logical framework, and the hypothesis of this research is “there is positive effect of using Color chains game toward the third students’ vocabulary achievement at Ihsaniyah 1 pusaka elementary school tegal”. In other word, the students who are taught by using Color Chains Games have Vocabulary Achievement better than students who are taught without using Color Chains Games.
The population of this research is the third Grade students at Ihsaniyah 1
Elementary School Tegal. The number of population is 65 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique to choose the sample of the study. The number of sample is 60 students. The sample consists of two groups; each group consists of 30 students. Group I is experimental group, it consists of the students who are taught by using Color Chains Games. Group II is control group, it consists of the students who are not taught by using Color Chains Games.
The research instrument used in this research is multiple choice test which consists of 40 items and each item has four options. To know the validity and the reliability of the instrument, the writer tries out the instrument by giving test to 30 students having the same competence with the sample of the study.
The data is analysed by using t-test formula. It shows that t-test result is
3,049, with degree freedom is 58 and the level of significance (α) 5% = 1,645. It is absolutely said that t-test is higher than t-table (3,049>1,645), because of the t- test is higher than t-table, so that hypothesis of the research is accepted.
From the result of data analysis, the writer can conclude that the effect of using Color Chains Games gives positive effect on Vocabulary Achievement of the third grade students of Ihsaniyah 1 pusaka Elementary School Tegal in Academic Year 2016/2017.
