THE EFFECT OF USING VAK (VISUAL AUDITORIAL AND KINESTHETIK) METHOD ON STUDENTS’ READING ACHIEVEMENT (An Experimental Research at the Seventh Grade State Junior High School 2 Talang in the Academic Year of 2016/2017)

The objective of this research is to find out whether using VAK (Visual Auditorial and Kinesthetik) method gives positive effect on students’ Reading Achievement at the Seventh Grade State Junior High School 2 Talang the Academic Year of 2016/2017
Based on the theoretical framework, the hypothesis of this research is “using VAK (Visual Auditorial Kinesthetik) gives positive effect on the reading achievement of the seventh grade students of junior high school”.
The population of this research is all of seventh grade students of State Junior High School 2 Talang, which is totally 265 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique with one groups design (Pre-test Post-test). The total of sample is 60 students, 30 students is experiment group. The experiment group is the group of students who are taught by using VAK (Visual Auditorial Kinesthetik) method. Post-test gives after teaching for several meeting, the writer gives a reading test in multiple choice. Pre-test given before teaching for several meeting, the writer gives a reading test in multiple choice.
The data is analyzed by using t-test formula. It shows that t-test result is 4,1503, the writer consult is to t-table with the level of significant 5% and degree of freedom (df) 58. The writer finds that t-table is 2,002. It proves that the result of t-test is higher than t-table (4,1503 > 2,002), because the result of the t-test is higher than t-table so the hypothesis of the research is accepted. It means that is positive effect of using VAK (Visual Auditorial and Kinesthetik) method on students’ Reading Achievement at the Seventh Grade State Junior High School 2 Talang the Academic Year of 2016/2017
According to the analysis, VAK (Visual Auditorial Kinesthetik) method gives positive effect on the students’ reading achievement. Then, the writer suggests to the English teachers to use VAK (Viaual Auditorial Kinesthetik) method to improve students’ reading achievement.
