Based on background of the problem, there are many students has low reading skill. Some of cause such as:strategy which is not suitable in learning class. some of students recognized that sometimes strategy, technique, or method in learning class are bored morever uninterested. The finally the writer try to used listen, read, and discuss (LRD) Strategy as research. The objective of this research is to know The Effect Of Using Listen, Read, And Discuss (LRD) Strategy On Reading Achievement Of The Tenth Grade Students Of Senior High School In SMA NU 1 Hasyim Asyari Tarub Tegal In Academic Year 2017/2018.
In This Research, The writter used quantitative research and the type of research is exeperimental research. The population of this research is all of The Tenth Grade Students In The Second Semester of SMA NU 1 Hasyim Asyari Tarub Tegal In Academic Year 2017/2018. The total number of the students are 121. The samples of the research are 60 students taken by using cluster random sampling. They are classified into two group, group I consists of 30 students as experiment class who are taught by Using Listen, Read, And Discuss (LRD) Strategy and group II consists of 30 students as control class who are taught by using Think Pair Share (TPS) Strategy. The writer used reading test as research instrument. The type is multiple choice which total 40 item.
t-ratio is used to know the difference result of two groups. The result of calculation analysis shows that t-ratio = 3.555 and then it is consulted to the level of significance 5% t-table = 1.672. It means that the result of t-ratio is higher than t-table. The hypothesis of this research is accepted.
The conclusion of this research shows that the use Of Listen Read Discuss (LRD) Has Positive Effect Toward Reading Achievement To The Tenth Grade Students Of SMA NU 1 Hasyim Asyari Tarub Tegal In academic year 2017/2018.
Suggestion of this research that listen, read, and discuss (LRD) Strategy can be reference to teach reading text material. Process learning activity can be more effective.
