The objective of this research is to know the difference of students' English achievement between the students who are taught by using The Tiny Tot's Reader Window of Learning as teaching material at SD Negeri Debong Lor Kota Tegal and the students who are taught by using Learning by Doing 6 pocket book at SD Negeri Tegalsari 8 Kota Tegal in Academic Year 2008/2009.
The research population are all the sixth grade students of SD Negeri at Tegal Barat Sub District, with the number of students is 883 students. The writer uses cluster random sampling technique to choose the sample of the research. The number of sample is 60 students. The sample consists of two groups, the experiment and control group. Each group consists of 30 students. The experiment group is the students who are taught by using The Tiny Tot's Reader Window of Learning book as teaching material and the control group is the students who are taught by using Learning by Doing 6 pocket book.
The writer uses a test as the instrument of the research. The test takes 60 minutes to do. The type of the test is multiple choice test with four options A, B, C, and D. To find out the validity and the reliability of the instrument by giving the same test for 25 students having the same competence with the samples of the study.
The research data are gained from the result of English writing test done by the sample during the second Semester. The data analysis of this research is tested by usingt-test. Based on the result of data analysis, t-ratio is 5,238 whereas t-table with the degree of freedom is (58) on the level significance 5 % table is 2,000 (5,238 > 2,000). It shows that the use of The Tiny Tot's Reader Windows of Learning as teaching material source give positive influence to students English achievement.
