Pengaruh Pembelajaran Berorientasi Aktivitas Siswa (PBAS) Terhadap Kemampuan Kosakata Bahasa Inggris Siswa (Suatu Penelitian di Sekolah Dasar "Bhakti Mulia" Kelas IV Mejasem Tegal Tahun Pelajaran 2009-2010)

This research purpose to know whether there is positive influenced in English vocabulary skill using teaching vocabulary by using student's Activity Centered Learning to students the fourth grade student of Bhakti Mulia Elementary School Mejasem - Tegal in academic year 2009/2010.
Based on the theoretical background, the hypothesis of this research is proposed as follows : Teaching vocabulary by using student's Activity Centered Learning is expected will better than communicative learning method.
The population of this research is all of students in the fourth grade students of Bhakti Mulia Elementary School Mejasem Tegal in academic year 2009/2010 the total is 22. The writer uses random sampling technique to choose research sample. The number of sample is 22 students. 11 students as the experiment group ( The students who are taught by using Oriented Activity Student Learning). 11 students as the control group (The students who are taught by using communicative learning method).
The writer uses vocabulary test as research instrument. The test take 45 minutes to do. The type of the test is multiple choices with four answers option A,B,C, and D. To recognize the validity and reliability of the instrument, the writer tried out the instrument by giving test to eleven students having the same competence with the sample of the study.
The data of the research are gained from the result of the vocabulary test done on the sample of the research. Data analysis of the research is tested by using t-test. Based on the data analysis t-ratio are 3,836 whereas t-table with degree of the freedom (dk) 20 on the level significant of 5% is 2,086. It shows that t-ratio is higher that t-table (3,836 > 2,086).
The conclusion of this research is : the is significant between the students who are taught by using student's Activity Centered Learning and the students who are taught by using communicative learning method. It could be concluded that the students who are taught by using student's Activity Centered Learning in Bhakti Mulia Elementary School Mejasem - Tegal in academic year 2009/2010 have better vocabulary mastery than those who are taught by using communicative learning method.
According the conclusion above can to take the suggestion for teachers and students, because students who are taught by using student's Activity Centered Learning have better vocabulary mastery.
