The objective of the research is to know team-work model in teaching English writing by using narrative text has effect on writing achievement at eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pangkah.
The problem of the research is stated that "Does team-work model in teaching English writing by using narrative text have effect on writing achievement at eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pangkah? Hypothesis of the research stated that "team-work model in teaching English writing by using narrative text has effect on writing achievement at eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pangkah".
The population of this research is all of the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pangkah in the even semester in academic year 2009/2010. The number of population is 358 students. The eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pangkah is divided into nine classes. The researcher uses random sampling technique to take samples and the samples are grouped into two groups. Each group consists of 40 students. The first group is taught with team work model by using narrative text and the other group is taught with lecture method by using narrative text.
To collect data, the researcher uses documentation and written test. The written test consists of 30 questions. Each question has 4 options.
To analyze data, the researcher uses t test formula. From the counting of mean of experiment and control group, the researcher has gotten 72 for experiment group and 63 for control group. From analysis data with t-test, the researcher has found t count is bigger is bigger than t table (3,019 > 1,980). It means that there is some significance different means of experiment and control group, so the hypothesis of research is received.
