ttabel = 1,833, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa hasil perhitungan data hasil penelitian signifikan dengan dibuktikan Ho yang berbunyi "Tidak ada keefektifan secara signifikan antara bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010" ditolak dan menerima hipotesis kerja yang diajukan yaitu "Ada keefektifan secara signifikan antara bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010". Simpulannya adalah layanan bimbingan kelompok dipandang sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP N 2 Ketanggungan Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive random sampling, whereby a sample of this study are students who have low levels of communication skills. Methods of data collection in this research by using survey questionnaires with 38 items that previously had been tested so it can be used in research. The method of data analysis to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services in improving students' communication skills using the formula t test. Results from analysis with statistical calculations using t-test, the results of the calculation data obtained t count reached 2.169 and the rejection limit ttable with significance level 5% db obtained 1.833. Data calculation was then correlated with ttable obtained t = 2.169> ttable = 1.833, so it can be said that the calculation of significant research data with proven results of Ho, which reads "There is no guidance effectiveness significantly between groups in improving communication skills class VIII Junior High School 2 Ketanggungan Brebes Academic Year 2009/2010 "is rejected and accept the working hypothesis proposed that" There's effectiveness significantly between groups guidance in improving the communication skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Brebes Academic Year 2009/2010 ". Conclusion is group counseling services is considered very effective in improving students' communication skills class VIII N 2 Ketanggungan Academic Year 2009/2010. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan gejala yang terjadi di SMP Negeri 1 Ketanggungan. Kemampuan komunikasi siswa khususnya kelas VIII memiliki kemampuan komunikasi siswa masih rendah. Permasalahannya apakah Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok Efektif dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berkomunikasi Siswa SMP N 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan kelompok efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi pada siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010".
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Pre Eksperimental Design dengan jenis One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII SMP N 2 Ketanggungan. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive random sampling, dimana yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa yang memiliki tingkat kemampuan komunikasi masih rendah. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan angket kuesioner dengan jumlah 38 item yang sebelumnya telah di uji cobakan sehingga dapat digunakan dalam penelitian. Sedangkan metode analisis data untuk mengetahui keefektifan layanan bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa menggunakan rumus t tes.
Hasil dari analisis dengan perhitungan statistik menggunakan t-test, hasil dari perhitungan data tersebut diperoleh thitung mencapai 2,169 dan ttabel batas penolakan dengan taraf signifikan 5% d.b diperoleh 1,833. Data hasil perhitungan kemudian dikorelasikan dengan ttabel ternyata diperoleh thitung = 2,169 > ttabel = 1,833, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa hasil perhitungan data hasil penelitian signifikan dengan dibuktikan Ho yang berbunyi "Tidak ada keefektifan secara signifikan antara bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010" ditolak dan menerima hipotesis kerja yang diajukan yaitu "Ada keefektifan secara signifikan antara bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010".
Simpulannya adalah layanan bimbingan kelompok dipandang sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII SMP N 2 Ketanggungan Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010. Dapat diberikan saran bahwa guru pembimbing hendaknya dapat lebih kreatif dalam memberikan pelayanan bimbingan kelompok yang efektif dalam upaya mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa SMP N 2 Ketanggungan Kabupaten Brebes.
