Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan grammar dalam membuat kalimat berdasarkan gambar yang di buat oleh Siswa-siswi kelas VII Sekolah Menegah Pertama.
Populasi dari Penelitian ini adalah Siswa-siswi kelas VII MTs Filial AL-IMAN Adiwerna angkatan tahun 2009/2010. Jumlah populasinya ada 214 siswa, Jumlah samplenya 30 siswa. Sample penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik random sampling.. Metode penelitiannya metode deskriptif.
Data diperoleh dari sebuah test uraian. Test terdiri dari 15 soal. Berdasarkan data analisis, penulis mendapati jawaban siswa terdapat lima kesalahan-kesalahan grammar yang dibuat oleh siswa. Kesalahan-kesalahan grammar tersebut di klasifikasikan kedalam penggunaan kalimat yang tepat, tanda baca, penggunaan huruf besar, kata kerja, dan kata depan.
Hasil data analisis kesalahan grammar menunjukkan bahwa 21.65% mengenai penggunaan kalimat yang tepat, 6.64% mengenai tanda baca, 43.39% mengenai penggunaan huruf besar, 24.39% mengenai kata kerja, 3.54% mengenai kata depan. Di ketahui bahwa kesalahan terbanyak pada penggunaan huruf besar dengan jumlah kesalahan siswa 43.39%. jumlah kesalahan paling sedikit pada kata depan yaitu 3.52%.
Ini dapat di simpulkan bahwa jawaban siswa dalam penggunaan huruf besar adalah kesalahan grammar yang menonjol.
Berdasarkan kenyataan ini, penulis menyarankan bahwa guru bahasa inggris dalam pengajarannya khususnya dalam membuat kalimat gunakanlah gambar, agar siswa dapat membuat kalimat singkat dengan mudah, murid lebih aktif, dan lebih tertarik.

The aim of this research is to know grammatical errors in making sentences based on the picture which are made by the seventh graders of students junior high school.
The population of this research is the seventh grade students of MTS Filial AL-IMAN Adiwerna, in the academic year of 2009/2010. The number of population is 214 students, the number of samples is 30 students. The sample of this research is taken by using random sampling technique. The research method is descriptive method.
The data is obtained from an essay test. The test consists of 15 numbers. Based on the data analysis, the writer finds five grammatical errors which are made by students in their answer. The grammatical errors are classified into appropriate tenses, punctuation, capitalization, a finite (to be) and preposition.
The result of data analysis shows that grammatical errors are: 21.65% concerns with appropriate tenses, 6.64% concerns with punctuation, 43.39% concerns with capitalization, 24.39% concerns with to be, 3.52% concerns with preposition. It can be known that the students mostly made errors on Capitalization, the number of errors is 43.39%. The fewest on Preposition, the number of errors is 3.52%.
It can be concluded that capitalization is the dominant grammatical errors made by students in their answer.
Based on the fact, the writer suggests that the English teacher to use pictures in teaching grammar especially in making sentence, in order that the students can write simple sentence easily, students are more active, and more interesting.
