The aim of this research is to know what dominant misformation errors which are made by the students when they change active voice into passive voice.
Based on the theoretical background, traditionally, grammar has been concerned almost exclusively with analysis at the level of sentence. Active voice is sentence when the subject is doing something, and passive voice is used when focusing on the person or thing affected by an action. There are 16 kinds of tenses, they are simple present tense, simple past tense, present continuous tense, past continuous tense, present future tense, past future tense, present perfect tense, past perfect tense, present future continuous tense, past future continuous tense, present future perfect tense, past future perfect tense, present perfect continuous tense, past perfect continuous tense, future perfect continuous tense, and past future perfect continuous tense.
The population of this research is all of the 11th grade students of SMK Satya Praja 1 Petarukan, Pemalang residence, they are 120 students, in this research, the samples are 40 students which are taken at random. The instrument which is used in this research is test. The test is an essay test.
The result of this research is the writer find that there are 16.31% errors in determining to be, 10.06% errors in determining verb III, 3.31% errors in determining personal pronoun, 0.88% errors in determining subject and object, 3.25% errors in using being or not and 2% errors in using been or not.
It could be concluded that the dominant misformation error made by the students are in determining to be, determining verb III, determining personal pronoun, determining subject and object, use being or not and use been or not.
