The purpose of this research is to get information about different of KBK and KTSP on English Reading teaching
Based on the theoritical background, the frame of thinking and the hypothesis of this research is proposed as follows " The students who are teaching use KTSP have better achievement of English Reading than those who are not.
The population of this research is all students which consist of 60 students, the sample are divided into two groups, 30 Students each. One as Controlling group who are taught by using KBK, while another one as experimental group who taught by using KTSP.
The Variable of this research are free and bound variable. The free variable is Applying KBK and KTSP and the bound variable is English Reading Achievement.
The instrument used for this research is an English test. The test consists of 40 items and each items has four options.
The Data of this research is analysed by using t-test, in order to test the difference of two average scores, to know whether the hypotesis is accepted or not. The calculation must be based on significant degree of one percent.
The result of Data Analysis shows the Experimental group has 6,9, but the controlling group has 6,2. The result of hypotesis shows that t-calculation is 4,278, t-tabel with significant degree of one percent (0,01) and the degree of freedom of 58 is 2,390. Because t-calculation test is bigger than t-table (4,278 > 2,390 ), so the zero Hypotesis (Ho) is refused and research hypotesis is accepted.
The conclusion shows that students who taught by using KTSP have better Reading Achievement than those who taught by using KBK.
