The first group (the experiment group) consist of the students who are taught by using quantum teaching methods and the other group (control group) consist of the students who are taught without using quantum teaching methods. The data of the research is grained by using English vocabulary test. The test is a multiple choice with four options. The writter uses t-test to analyze the daata. It has confidence level of 1%. Based on the result of the result of the research, t-test is 4,340 and it is consulted with t-table with n = 60, it shows t-table = 2,390. it means that t-test is heigher than t-table (4,340 > 2,390). It means that the quantum teaching methods gives positive to improve the students English vocabulary achievement of the eight grade student of SMP Negeri 6 Tegal in academic year 2009/2010. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah efektifitas metode Quantum Teaching berpengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal.
Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah (Ho) : tidak ada pengaruh positif efektifitas quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal (Ha) : Ada pengaruh positif efektifitas metode quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal.
Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal tahun pelajaran 2009/2010. Populasi yang ada berjumlah 256 siswa. Adapun pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan metode random sampling dengan di ambil 60 siswa. Sampel dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 30 siswa. Kelompok kontrol diajar tidak menggunakan metode quantum teaching, sedangkan kelompok eksperimen diajar dengan menggunakan metode quantum teaching dalam mengajar kosakata.
Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh data dengan menggunakan teknik tes tertulis kosakata Bahasa Inggris. Tes tertulis ini berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan 4 pilihan jawaban.
Analisis data yang digunakan dalam uji t dengan taraf signifikansi 1%. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh t-hitung sebesar 4,340 dan dikonsultasikan t-tabel sebesar 2,390. maka t-hitung lebih besar dari t-tabel (4,340 > 2,390) hal ini membuktikan hipotesis yang menyatakan "ada pengaruh positif efektifitas metode quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal" dapat diterima.
Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa hipotesis yang menyatakan (Ho) : tidak ada pengaruh positif efektifitas metode quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal "ditolak" dan (Ha) ada pengaruh positif efektifitas metode quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tegal".
