The aim of this research is to find out the differences in the result achievement of listening test between the Fifth Grade students who are taught by dialogue type reading text and those who are taught by essay type reading text. This research consist of two variables, the independent variables are "the students who are taught by dialogue type reading text and those who are taught by essay type reading text" and the dependent variable is "the students learning achievement of listening". This research is conducted at the Fifth grade students of the whole SDN in Suradadi District Tegal Regency in the 2008/2009 Academic Year. The population of this research is 1567 students and the sample used for this research are two classes based on "Cluster Random Sampling Technique". SDN Karangmulya 02 is the first group class and SDN Sidoharjo 02 is the second group class, each consists of 30 students. The instrument used for collecting data is objective test consisting of 20 items. The data is collected from both sample classes and then analyzed with t-test, as prerequisite analysis to the data. The result of the t-test is 2,180. This aspect ratio is then compared with critical value of the calculation of t-table on the significant level of 5% (0,05) and degrees of freedom (df=30+30-2=58). The result of the interpretation reveals that t-ratio 2,180 is higher than the t-table 1,672. Due to the fact that t0 >t-table,so the research hypothesis which says that, "there is differences in result of learning in listening between the students who are taught by dialogue type reading text and those who are taught by essay type reading text" can be accepted. Based on the fact that the hypothesis is accepted, the research proves imperially that there is a significant difference between the students who are taught by dialogue type reading text and those who are taught by essay type reading text." />

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah ada perbedaan pada hasil belajar listening antara siswa yang diajar melalui wacana dialog dengan siswa yang diajar melalui wacana uraian. Penelitian ini memiliki dua variabel yaitu 1) variabel bebas yang berbunyi "siswa yang diajar melalui wacana dialog dan siswa yang diajar melalui wacana uraian' dan 2) variabel terikat yaitu "hasil belajar listening.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas V SD dari SD Negeri Se Kecamatan Suradadi Kabupaten Tegal Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010. Populasi diambil dari seluruh SD Negeri Se Kecamatan Suradadi dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 1567 siswa, sedangkan sampel yang digunakan adalah diambil dari 2 SD berdasarkan "Cluster Random Sampling Technique" yaitu SDN Karangmulya 02 sebanyak 30 siswa sebagai kelompok I dan SDN Sidoharjo 02 sebanyak 30 siswa sebagai kelompok II.
Adapun instrument penelitian tes yang digunakan untuk mengambil data hasil belajar menyimak (listening comprehension) siswa adalah seperangkat instrument tes listening yang berjumlah 10 soal tes wacana dialog dan 10 soal tes wacana uraian yang berupa soal pilihan ganda.
Hasil pengumpulan data dari kedua sampel, kelompok I dan kelompok II di atas kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t (t-test). Hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan uji t didapatkan nilai sebesar 2,180. Nilai tersebut kemudian dibandingkan dengan harga t-tabel pada taraf signifikan 5% (0,05) dan derajat kebebasan (db) 30+30-2=58. Hasil interpretasi kedua data tersebut menunjukan bahwa harga t hitung 2,180 lebih besar dari harga t tabel 1,672. Berdasarkan kenyataan diatas, to>t-tabel,jadi hipotesis penelitian yang menyatakan " ada perbedaan hasil belajar menyimak yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajar melalui wacana dialog dengan siswa yang diajar melalui wacana uraian" diterima.
Berdasarkan hal tersebut di atas bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima, maka penelitian ini telah membuktikan secara empiris bahwa hasil belajar listening siswa yang diajar melalui wacana dialog lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diajar melalui wacana uraian.
